Ceramics

I make pots. I like to fire cone 9-10 hard reduction, gas, or sometimes wood, but also have a small test kiln (electric) for bisque and midrange; lately I’ve been firing cone 5-6 with a thixotropic, translucent porcelain and encapsulated glaze stains. Almost all my work is porcelain. I was previously a member of the Union Project ceramics cooperative, where I taught ceramics and fired kilns. Some of these photos are of old student work, and some of it is my test work. I am currently adapting an old electric kiln for high fire propane, and scheming about building a studio in my backyard. I have studied with and/or taken workshops from Bunny McBride, Reagan Yoder, Chuck Hindes, Ron Meyers, Christa Assad, Josh DeWeese, Delores Fortuna, and others. I prefer to make clean, lightweight, utilitarian pots. I make my own glazes, and, when needed, clay.
